What is Email Hosting and Do You Need It?

Free Gmail is yourbusiness@gmail.com — looks unprofessional. Email hosting gives you info@yourbusiness.co.za, sales@, you@ — unlimited.

With Stallion, email hosting is not a separate product — it's included with web hosting. You don't pay extra. You create accounts inside cPanel.

You need it if:

• You want to look professional to SA customers
• You need multiple addresses — info@, accounts@, support@
• You want data stored in South Africa for POPIA compliance — many SA businesses now require this vs US Gmail

How to Create info@ in cPanel in 2 Minutes

1. Login to Stallion cPanel > Email Accounts > Create
2. Enter info + choose your domain yourbusiness.co.za + set password
3. Click Create — done. Access via Webmail button in cPanel, or add to phone using IMAP settings shown in cPanel > Connect Devices.

You can create unlimited — info@, sales@, john@ — all free.

How Much Storage for Email?

Email shares your hosting disk:

• Colt 512MB = very tight — ∼100-200 emails, not good for heavy email
• Mare 4GB = fine for small business — 3 sites + email
• Reseller 20GB = best if you host client email — 2GB per client account average

Tip: Use IMAP and set phone to not keep 2 years of mail, or your disk fills.

POPIA and Local Email Hosting

POPIA requires you protect personal information. Hosting email in South Africa with a ZACR accredited registrar like Stallion since 2009 helps — data stays in SA, not on US servers. You also get local ticket support tailored to your knowledge level.
